Most insurance plans will cover nutrition counseling and medical nutrition therapy. We will bill your insurance for you; however, you are responsible to know and understand your insurance benefits.
Due to COVID-19 most plans are covering telehealth.
In-Network – We are an in-network provider with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Allegiance and Cigna Insurance.
Out of Network– No problem! We are happy to bill your insurance, even if you only have out-of-network benefits. If you have not yet met your deductible at the time of your appointment, you must pay in advance of your visit. If your deductible has been met, you will pay for any co-pay or coinsurance prior to your appointment. You will be issued a refund for any overpayment.
See our list of questions to ask when contacting your insurance plan.
For Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) we accept most major insurance companies as a form of payment. Many private insurance plans cover nutrition counseling and medical nutrition therapy, oftentimes at 100%. We will bill insurance for you; however, you are responsible to know and understand your benefits.
To check your insurance benefits, locate the member services/customer service number on the back of your insurance ID card. Call your insurance company to check for benefits. See step by step instructions.
We are a Medicare provider. However, at this time Medicare only covers visits for Diabetes and Chronic Renal Failure. This is the same for your supplemental insurance. We are a Medicaid provider. We are not a Tricare provider and payment for services is expected at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made. If you have questions give us a call 800-746-2970 ext 0.
Initial visit (1 hour): You will get to know your dietitian or health coach. They will perform an assessment of need and education needed. A customized nutrition plan or wellness roadmap will be developed and education will begin.
Follow up visits (30-60 minutes): Change doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time, patience and practice. We will review your goals, discuss how the changes you implemented are working (or aren’t), set new goals and provide additional education. We will continue to move forward with the goal of achieving improved health and a balanced life.
The number of appointments depends on your diagnosis, goals, and progress. You should plan on a minimum of 2 visits. At the end of your initial appointment your dietitian or health coach will be able to give you an estimate of the number of visits that may be needed to reach your goals.
Leave the waiting room behind! Our services are provided virtually either by phone or video.
Phone appointment: A phone appointment will be perfect for you if:
If you choose a phone appointment the dietitian or health coach will call at the scheduled time using the number you provided when booking the appointment.
If you do not answer, a message will be left and your provider will call again in 10 minutes. If you do not answer the second phone call a message will be left and the appointment will be considered a no-show appointment. Please refer to the financial agreement for charges related to a no-show appointment.
